Ruth Deckert

Ruth Deckert, age74, of Columbus, Nebraska died Wednesday October 8, 2003 at the Columbus Community Hospital.  Funeral Services are 10:00 a.m. Saturday; October 11, 2003 at the McKown Funeral Home in Columbus with the Reverend William Effa officiating. Burial will be in the Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation is Friday 4:00 -7:00 p.m. and Saturday 8-10 a.m. at the funeral home.

Ruth Deckert was born March 4, 1929 in Tilden, Nebraska to Edward and Marie (Tierney) Shenshew. She grew up in the Tilden area and attended school in Tilden. She married Derald "Sarge" Deckert on May 11, 1952 in Norfolk, Nebraska. She has lived in Columbus since 1965. She was a homemaker and enjoyed babysitting, gardening and visiting with friends and neighbors.
