Mary Mostek

Mary Mostek, age 99 of Duncan died Thursday; October 9, 2003 at the Genoa Community Hospital. Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Tuesday; October 14, 2003 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Duncan, Nebraska. The Rev. Frank Jindra will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation is Monday 5-8 p.m.  A vigil service will be held at 7:00 p.m. all at the church. Visitation will continue Tuesday morning 9:30 a.m. until service time at the church.

Mary Mostek was born January 2, 1904 in Platte County to John and Kathryn (Pytel) Gavlik. She attended school in the Tarnov area where she grew up. She married Alex Mostek on November 23, 1920 at St. Johns Church near Lindsay, Nebraska. Along with being a homemaker she worked at St. Mary's Hospital and the Public School in Duncan. She was a member of the St. Stanislaus Church , St. Anne's Sodality and the Lions Club in Duncan.

Daughter:    Dolores Waldorf of Whitmore Lake, MI
Sister:         Josephine Drog of Duncan, NE

7 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and 1 son: Lawrence.
