Pauline "Polly" Determan, age 89, of Columbus, Nebraska died Saturday November 8, 2003 at the Creighton Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska. Funeral Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday November 12, 2003 at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church in Columbus with Reverend Mark Bridgman officiating. Burial is in the St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Visitation will be 3:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday with a 4:00 p.m. Rosary and a 7:00 p.m. Vigil Service at McKown Funeral Home. Visitation will continue on Wednesday morning from 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. also at the funeral home. Pauline "Polly" Determan was born
August 30, 1914 in Fordyce, Nebraska to Joseph and Matilda (Kast) Goeden.
She was married to Ben H. Determan on June 1, 1933 at St. John's
Catholic Church in Paxton, South Dakota. The couple moved from Norfolk,
Nebraska to Columbus in 1962. Polly was a member of St. Bonaventure
Church for over 40 years where she was active with the Catholic
Daughters of America and Perpetual Adoration. She also belonged to a
garden club, bridge clubs and was a hospital volunteer. Her hobbies
included golf, bowling, bridge, traveling and baking . She also was an
avid sports fan. Polly is survived by: Son: John Determan of Omaha, NE She was preceded in death by: her Husband, Ben; Parents; Two Brothers; Granddaughter, Kathi Watson and Great Grandson, Kevin Watson. |
