Clayton K. Brewer, 89, of Columbus died Saturday, May 31, 2003 at Mory's Haven in Columbus. Services are 1:00 pm Tuesday at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church in Columbus with the Rev. Tom Weisbecker officiating. Burial will be in the St. Bonaventure Cemetery in Columbus with military honors by Hartman Post #84 American Legion Honor Guard. Visitation is 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Monday with a 7:00 p.m. Vigil Service at McKown Funeral Home. Visitation will continue Tuesday morning from 8:00 a.m - 12:30 p.m. Tuesday also at the funeral home. Clayton Kenneth Brewer was born November 29, 1913 in Spalding, Nebraska to Daniel & Bessie (Wanker) Brewer. He attended school in Genoa and Columbus where he graduated from Kramer High School in 1936. He married Leona Kneifel in 1942 at St. Bonaventure Church in Columbus. Clayton served 3 1/2 years in the US Army during WWII. He was employed at Fleischer Mfg. for 45 years. He and his wife own Memory Lane Antiques. Clayton is a member of the American Legion, Eagles Club, St. Bonaventure Church, and was previously a scout leader for Troop 115. He enjoyed antiques, square dancing, hunting, fishing, and traveling.
