Henry A. Sladek

Henry A. Sladek age 85 of Columbus died Thursday; June 12, 2003 at Faith Regional Hospital in Norfolk. Private family services are Saturday; June 14, 2003 at McKown Funeral Home in Columbus, Nebraska. Pastor Irene O'Brien will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Bonaventure Cemetery.

Henry A. Sladek was born June 3, 1918 in Rural Verdigre, Nebraska to Joseph and Anna (Kripner) Sladek. He attended District #47 school in Knox County, Nebraska. Henry married Velna Door in 1939 and farmed for many years in the Lindy and Venus areas. He moved to Columbus in 1968 where Henry worked for D & L for 8 years, Behlen Mfg. for 2 years and Falcon Auto for 2 years. In 1970 he married Leona Vetick in Columbus where they lived for 27 years. Henry was an avid gardener and loved fishing and camping.
