Joseph W. Ryan

Joseph W. Ryan, 77, of Columbus died Monday, January 13, 2003 at Columbus Community Hospital.  Funeral services are 10:30 am Wednesday at St. Isidore Catholic Church.  Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4-8 pm at McKown Funeral Home with a Vigil service at 7 pm, also at the funeral home.  Visitation will continue Wednesday morning from 8-10 am at McKown Funeral Home.  Interment will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery.

Joseph W. Ryan was born May 2, 1925 in Kimball, SD to John & Eva (Meis) Ryan. He graduated from Kimball High School in 1943 then moved to Columbus. He served in the US Army from 1946-1947. Joe lived and worked in Columbus and Grinnell, Iowa for the local GTE telephone company before retiring in 1985 when he returned to Columbus. He was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church. He enjoyed woodworking and crossword puzzles.
