Clarence "Shorty" Schupbach, 82, of Columbus died Thursday, January 23, 2003 at his home. Funeral services are 10:30 am on Monday, January 27, 2003 at St. Isidore Catholic Church inn Columbus with the Rev. Joseph Miksch officiating. Visitation is on Sunday from 4-8 pm at McKown Funeral Home with a Vigil service at 7:00 pm, also at the funeral home. Visitation continues on Monday morning from 8-10 am at the funeral home. Interment will be in the St. Bonaventure Cemetery with military honors by Hartman Post #84 American Legion Honor Guard. Memorial may be made to the families choice. Clarence "Shorty"
H. Schupbach was born on November 22, 1920 to Christian "Chris" &
Margaret (Zybach) Schupbach. He was born and raised in Platte County,
attended District #5 country school and graduated from Kramer High
School in 1938. He joined the US Army during World War II from
1945-1946. He returned to farm where he worked until he moved to
Columbus and worked for Behlen Mfg. Co. for 13 years until his
retirement. Shorty married Mary Catherine Homan in Bellwood on May 10,
1955. He was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church, Holy Name Society,
Eagles Club, American Legion Hartman Post #84, Knights of Columbus, and
the Swiss Maennerchor. Wife Mary
