Frances Olafson

Frances Olafson, age 75, of Silver Creek, Nebraska died Wednesday August 27, 2003 at the Columbus Community Hospital.  Funeral Services are 10:00 a.m. Saturday August 30, 2003 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Silver Creek with Reverend Frank Jindra officiating.  Burial will be in the St. Lawrence Cemetery in Silver Creek.  Visitation is after 5:00 p.m. Friday with a 7:00 p.m. Vigil Service at St. Lawrence Church in Silver Creek.  Visitation will continue Saturday morning from 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. also at the church.

Frances Olafson was born January 16, 1928 in Silver Creek, Nebraska to Joseph P. and Rose (Jareske) Mecek. She grew up in Fullerton, Nebraska. She moved to Silver Creek during her high school years and graduated from Silver Creek High School in 1945. On May 29, 1950 she married Glen Olafson at St. Lawrence Church in Silver Creek. She was a homemaker and worked for D&L in Columbus for many years. She loved flower gardening. She was a member of St. Lawrence Church and past member of the St. Lawrence Altar Society.
