Neola VanWinkle

Neola F. VanWinkle, age 81 of Silver Creek, died Wednesday; September 11, 2002 at the Columbus Community Hospital. Funeral services are 11:00 a.m. Friday; September 13, 2002 at the United Methodist Church in Silver Creek. The Rev. Bev Minor will officiate. Burial will be in the Silver Creek Cemetery. The will be no public visitation.

Neola F. VanWinkle was born July 22, 1921 in Silver Creek, Nebraska to J. Willard and Mabel (Cremeen) Carter. She received her education in Silver Creek and graduated from Silver Creek High School in 1939. Neola was a registered Nurse, receiving her training at Mary Lanning School of Nursing in Hastings. She worked for over 25 years at the Genoa Hospital. She married George E. VanWinkle on September 25, 1949 in Silver Creek, Nebraska. Following her retirement in 1996 she volunteered at the Silver Creek Public Schools. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Silver Creek where she taught Sunday school for many years.
