In Memory of Sophie C. Ptacek

Sophie C. Ptacek, age 81 of Columbus, died Sunday; September 8, 2002 at the Columbus Community Hospital. Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday; September 12, 2002 at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church with the Rev. Joseph Miksch officiating. Burial will be in the St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Visitation is 4:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Wednesday at McKown Funeral Home. A Rosary will be held at 4:00 p.m. and a Vigil Service at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Visitation will continue Thursday morning 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. also at the funeral home.

Sophie C. Ptacek was born November 22, 1920 near Brainard, Nebraska to Anton and Matilda (Sedlak) Navratil. She grew up in the Brainard area. On November 17, 1941 she was united in marriage to Vladimir J. Ptacek at Holy Trinity Church in Brainard. The couple lived and farmed west of Bruno until moving to Columbus in 1967. Sophie was a member of St. Bonaventure Catholic Church and the St. Bonaventure Guild. She enjoyed traveling and her family.
