Louise A. Foltz, age 91, of Platte Center, Nebraska died Wednesday June 26, 2002 at Beverly Healthcare. Funeral services are 10:00 am Saturday June 29, 2002 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Platte Center with the Rev. Rod Kneifl officiating. Visitation will be on Friday from 3-5 pm at McKown Funeral Home in Columbus and will continue after 6 pm at the church in Platte Center. There will be a Vigil service at 7 pm Friday at the Church. Visitation will continue on Saturday morning from 9 am until service time at the church. Interment will be in Ss. Patrick/Joseph Cemetery. Memorials are to the donor's choice. Louise A. Foltz was born August 28, 1910 in Hanover, Kansas, daughter of Joseph and Anna (Ruhkamp) Goeckel. She married Henry Foltz on February 10, 1931 in Hanover, KS. They farmed near Washington, KS until 1940 when they moved to a farm near Humphrey, NE. In 1950 they moved to a farm near Platte Center. Louise was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Ann's Sodality, mission sewing & quilting, and rosary crusade. She also served as a 4-H leader and a CCD teacher. She enjoyed quilting, flowers, and cards. She is survived by: GOD’S GARDEN God looked around his garden And found an empty place. He then looked down upon the earth, And saw your tired face. He put His arms around you And lifted you to rest. God’s garden must be beautiful He always takes the best. He knew that you were suffering He knew you were in pain. He knew that you would never Get well on earth again. He saw the road was getting rough, And the hills were hard to climb. So he closed your weary eyelids, And whispered “Peace be thine.” It broke our hearts to lose you But you didn’t go alone. For part of us went with you The day God called you home.
