In Memory of Letha Higgins

Letha J. Higgins, age 87 of Columbus, Nebraska formerly of Kearney, Nebraska died Sunday, October 7, 2001 at the Columbus Community Hospital. Funeral Services are 2:00 p.m. Friday October 12, 2001 at the First United Methodist Church in Kearney. Burial will be in the Kearney Cemetery. Visitation is from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Thursday at McKown Funeral Home in Columbus and on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the church.

Letha J. Higgins was born February 24, 1914 in Elm Creek, Nebraska to James Thomas and T. Pearl (Teller) Fox. She graduated from Elm Creek High School. On April 22, 1936 Letha was united in marriage to Maynard Higgins in Minden, Nebraska. The couple lived in the Kearney area where she worked for J.C. Penney in Kearney for many years until retiring. In 1977 they moved to Columbus, Nebraska. Letha was an avid reader & enjoyed sewing and altering.  She loved people, her pets and cooking.  Letha attended the Methodist Church.
